I'm with you on that one, I can honestly say if a ZPoc did happen I'm not bugging out until the last minute. I'm staying put until like think I'm about to be overrun then I'm hightailing it out of there. I would rather bug in and play Alamo and know how to secure my Homestead then to take a chance elsewhere and not know what the hell is going on, where I am or where I'm going to go or even how to secure somewhere without any necessary materials close by.
Everybody always talks about bugging out well that's the last thing you want to do because the freeways are going to be jammed the roads are going to be packed some places are going to be impossible to get through and not to mention there are going to be Highway Marauders. It's better to stay put and let the shit sort itself out then to become a victim of the situation.

And that's the thing about bugging out in general.  You'd either better BE ready, and be THE first one to bug out... or you'll die in the chaos and 'parking lot' of the congested highways.

Or... be prepared to bug in for at LEAST 3 weeks - ready to ride OUT the chaos around you, until the herd is thinned out considerably!

I agree with you 150%. As we've seen in just about every natural disaster, zombie apocalypse, alien invasion, National Invasion by a foreign government movie. When everybody is trying to bug out the freeways get jammed the roads get packed and almost impossible to get anywhere. People either run out of gas while idling the cars break down and then you're stuck either with your vehicle or walking and then you become a victim of the situation or a victim of the occurrence. I refuse to become a victim. I would rather ride out the storm and or occurrence at home where I know I am secure and safe then find myself in a situation I can't fight my way out of. As far as food, I've got a nice stockpile of dry goods in my basement. I've invested quite a bit in prepper stock. And everything I've purchased has a shelf life at the minimum 10 years as far as water I personally invested $250 in a pallet of bottled water that I purchased from my local Giant Eagle. Of course it gets used quite often however as it is used I buy more that way it does not become stagnant. I also have made sure I don't have to run to Home Depot during such occurrence, I have pre cut wood panels to cover my windows in case of an emergency they are pre cut to fit the size of the window all that needs to be done is they need to be nailed in place and I have plenty of three and a half inch nails and several hammers for family members to assist me. I've got one for the inside and one for the outside there is a hole drilled through the center of both of them and a small boat goes through them holding them both together so you can't pull the outer one off because it'll end up pulling on the inner one and the inner one will stop the outer one from being removed. So I've got the windows covered now for exterior doors. Each one of my entrances I have a steel security screen door on it and is attached to the concrete by 6 and 1/2 inch steel bolts and has a steel and titanium mix mesh covering other side of the screen door so unless you got a truck close by you're not pulling that door open. Needless to say I'm ready to bug in.

By the way the window above that door does not open so if somebody by chance goes to smash that window I'm going to be armed and ready for them to come through that window.

If you get really bored (and have a generator), a good thing to do sometime, is put in all your window panels, dark drapes, etc.  Then go out with your NVS, and check for "light leaks." 

MOST of us WON'T be able to run a generator around the clock, for weeks on end, but it's a good thinkg to check BEFORE disaster strikes.  Because if you're GONNA run one at night, and there's NO POWER around for blocks/miles, not only will your generator noise (if NOT properly muffled!) give you away - light leaks will give you away at a greater distance, than even the generator exhaust will.

Looks great, but like their parent store - DickLESS - I thought they were getting out of guns!!!  

Figure they'll change their name soon to, "Stream Store!"
