Another option is the Stryker vehicle.
When there is nothing else, break in to the National Guard armorys and help your self. It really is simple to drive and will go just about anywhere.

i would use a steamroller for on the road and a 6x6 dump truck for off road.
the steamroller might be slow till i add a nitrous system to it and flatten all the Zombies in my way.

Some information Links about it: http://www.history.navy.mil/planes/ch53.htm &, http://www.ask.com/wiki/CH-53E_Super_Stallion Here is a Blackhawk parked by an Super Stallion: You did pick the right one! It all depends on what you are doing and what Area/Environment you plan to travel. Are you alone? Group size small/Large. You can have one for each type of situation. Scout Vehicle = Light & Fast B.O.V. = Dependable/Reliable, Durable, Secured/Safety, Load capacity "Room for you/others and stuff", Towing Capacity H.H.V. = "Heavy Haul Vehicle", For supply's "Convoy Support", Obstacle Removal "From Smart-Car to SUV's", Defense/Offense Capability A.P.C. = For large Groups/Personnel, Armor for protection manly defense with some offense capably, Main objective protect Cargo/People! Get them to safety and keep them safe. A.T.V's = I like them, They are a good Short Range Scout Vehicle, Base camp i.e. Re-con, Save fuel for the main transports. MEDeVAC = Medical Support/Transport M.C.P.V. = Like a Scout Vehicle, Supports Communications, One/Two can support a long Convoy's communications over the Earth/Horizon and/or Boost Reception in bad areas, Could put it self in a High ground area to seek out COM Cattier and relay to another Scout Vehicle, Convoy, Base Camp. I'm sure I miss a few..But, You get the idea. Now, The tricky parts is when you try and put them in to one platform! Good luck, For every action their is a equal and opposite reaction. Its kind of hard to get a Vehicle or "Swiss Army Knife Vehicle" to do everything and still be viable and not a big drain on resources. Remember, It will need repairs one day and will always need servicing. So common parts would be good.X-Military or Not and can you fix it "D.I.Y." As for Window protection. I would use both Chain Link & Chicken wire. The chicken wire go's first then the Chain link over top. The Chain link will take the full brunt of force, While the chicken wire will act like a net and keep stuff out. If weight is not an issue, Then their is Industrial Catwalk Grating. Now that is the ticket! Link: http://www.argussteel.com/industrial_grating.htm Most M35's "Deuce" are street legal and you can use your regular license to drive them. They are less then 26,000 Ibs. They can be had for around $3,000 +/-. I like the M35A2's version. The M35A3's are great too but, They have some added stuff that might break down over time. Parts might not be available. Thats why I like the A2's. K.I.S.S.S. Just enough, But not too much. Their are CUCV's around the same price. The M998 platform is around $30-$40,000 a given. Their are spare parts, if You know were to look and share common Civilian parts not all but some. One note: You do want to keep things Simple But, Even then when you stand back they become complicated & Complex!

I still like the v22 if they can get all the kinks worked out of it:
