Anyone know of somewhere better than Archbald to shoot, more specifically somewhere you can actually do mag change, transition drills, etc.

Well, the camping/shooting weekend this past weekend was perfect for all of that. Big Grin

Private property is the best place right now in this area.

REALLY!? you mean archbald doesn't let you bumpfire, transition, or drink? geez... how do these other sector 3 boys even train? if only there was a group of guys on the zrt who had some land to practice on.... or a camping/shooting weekend :/

why,besides drinking which you shouldn't do wile operating fire arms anyway cant you bump-fire or transition at the rang in archbald,just need to share,iv never had any problems whos around? don't need to have private property if you go to the middle of nowhere where there's no body for miles,s*it were in pa there's places all over,just got to look for and go to them,i know of more than a few. google earth rocks!!

if you have a shotgun, pistol, and a bolty.... it's a lot more easy to trespass on private land when most of your guns barely even have a "fire rate" to speak of.... otherwise i wouldn't.
at the weekend, we had several aRs, AKs, tec, mac, uzi, and a fucking 1919.... not the kind of thing you want to be ILLEGALLY trespassing with. especially in PA where citizens can have guns..... like land owning citizens.
just stick to shooting where it's legal... and do dry runs in the woods.

ah, another one of those "don't drink and shoot" people.

as far as public ranges, no, you can't bumpfire. even if you could, what would be the point of doing it with only 3 rounds in your rifle, or 6 rounds in your handgun? transitioning mags is acceptable, though.

and, there's no such thing as public land in PA. if it's not private property, it's owned by either the state or federal government. state gamelands, state forests, national forests, state parks....you're not alowed to shoot on any of these, unless you're hunting in approved areas. also, there are many areas that are privately owned that aren't posted. those wouldn't show up on Google Earth, by the way.

odds are you'd be trespassing on government propertry or private property at least 75% of the time you went out into the woods.

if you want to shoot without the restrictions of SGL ranges, you will have either join a club, or know someone with a good bit of land. otherwise, you're risking having your rights revoked for acting like a moron and shooting where you're not supposed to.

well personally,i have none so i go where the guns are and were ever i get dragged to..and state land not marked "private no trespassing"is public property same as city and county, s*it are taxes pay for the state to own that land. and im sorry if you are in the middle of the woods with 5 or so miles of nothing on any side of you far away from people no ones even gonna know your there....but i guess no ones wrong and no ones right,i don't wanna fight.rotflmao peace

asshat statement of the day, right here. state regulated land is NOT public property. even if it was, by your rationale, it would be perfectly okay to shoot your AR in the alley behind the local bar, since a city street is "public property," like a city park, or the local pool. guess what? you'd get arrested, fined, lose your gun, lose your license, and be prohibited from carrying. if you were caught by SGL officers, you can be sure you get cuffed'n'stuffed.

in the future, please refrain from bragging about or condoning illegal activity on a public forum. it not only makes you look stupid, it makes the rest of us look stupid as well. it also could cause legal problems for not just yourself, but the administrators. come to think of it, the next time you have a thought, and think it you need to share it, don't. if you insist on doing so, have the decency to use a spell check, or at least take my friend's suggestion, and share them over on PAFOA, instead.
